Hello all. This is a big step for me. I'm almost 44. I Love to workout, but have issues with incentive. I've spent most of my time doing cardio, but have had spurts of weightlifting, and love it. I'm 6'1", and right now 193, but about 24% BF. Lower back issues have caused me to stop running, and start lifting. I've had my natural testosterone levels checked and am at the very bottom of what doctors call the normal range for my age. No doctor will prescribe me TRT, so I'm trying to make the decision to do it myself. I've never been very strong, except for my lungs. I think the problem I have with incentive is committing to lifting properly, with proper rest, diet, and supplements, and not seeing gains. I'm talking half a year of lifting, with proper form, a registered dietitian helping with meal planning, the right macros, and seeing only minor gains in strength and very little in size. Could this have anything to do with my low testosterone levels? Or am I way off here? Anyway, I plan to do a lot of reading on this site. When I do ask questions, I want them to be intelligent ones. Any opinions or thoughts are much appreciated. It's great to be on board.

Welcome 1fortheroad. Really, until we know your total testosterone numbers that came from your blood test or you get another blood test, we would be guessing if Low T is causing your problems.. You also never told us what, if any symptoms you might have. Your doctor in Canada should have no problem giving you your numbers. Also, doctors have a habit of saying men are on the low end, when the men are actually hypogonadal. So get the number and not his 'assessment'.
Now if you are looking to go on testosterone even if you are within normal levels, others may help you if you have any questions, to try and keep you from hurting yourself.

Hey man welcome to the board :wavey: As halfape told you we need to know the results of the blood work in order to make any assumptions. So what is your test level ? ng/dL.

So as suggested please get the results and post them so we can see what is going on in reality.
Good luck man, you will find that you have come to the right place to learn.

Go back and read all the sticky's for knowledge.
