My test has been low for years. I had it tested several years ago and my primary said it was nothing to worry about even though at that time I was in the bottom 10 percentile for my age group. Over the last 6 years, I have continued to feel "older" and everything seemed to be grinding downward. At age 48, I finally decided to see a MD that specializes in TRT in our area. I had full blood work and my levels of both Free and Total were crazy low. Considerably lower than the last time I had it checked. In fact, some of the lowest (less than 1%) he said he has seen and just barely registering above the lowest starting point on either scale. As such, and at his strong recommendation, I decided to give TRT a try.
Currently my protocol is 300mg Pfizer Cypionate and a corresponding B12 shot every 12-14 days depending on my schedule for the next 3 months. At that point we will redo blood panel and see what adjustments need to be made. That being said, I have a couple questions:
1. I am overly concerned about estrogen. Obviously, the more you read, the more conflicting reports, or personal stories, both good and bad about estrogen and TRT. Should I be concerned this early into the process?
2. Would taking a supplement like DIM be recommended to try and cut off any estrogen related issues before they may show up? Or should I wait and see?
3. Are there any additional "natural" supplements that can be taken while on TRT that will help optimize the treatment? I.E. Zinc, Magnesium, good multi-vitamin, etc?
4. I am very active. I have played sports my whole life and workout daily. Anything to avoid?
Thanks in advance.
