At age 29 i'm on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), this all started a year and a half ago when the wife and I had to do IVF to have a baby, my annual physical I requsted free test and total test added.. came back.. 350 total and a in range free number... progressed a year later and re-tested last august.. total test 335 free test 2.1 so I address this with my doctor about 60 days ago that my past two tests have been low and to explore the Low T options.... So he put me on 1 tube a day of testim. I will Admit testim wasn't so bad.. other than the 10-15 minutes a day of hell waiting for it to dry.. it smelled good and took a few weeks to kick in .. But I feared my 10 month old daughter rubbing up against my shoulder and Opted for test cyp shots when my rx came up for refill... So I go back to my GP.. yes my GP was the one who has been giving me the RX so the GP doc says ok.. 200mg/month of test cyp. .. I realize 200mg/cyp is great.. but not per month.. I consult with some friends who have been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and they all say the same.. 1x a month is crap and all referred me to their doc. So I make the appointment and today walked out with a rx for 200mg/week of cyp, I have blood work done in two weeks, a week before I go see him again for a follow up. no HCG or anything else.. mainly no HCG because I do not care about my fertility, its already shot and i have 14 babies sitting on ice in cryogenic state at the fertility clinic
Should I be concerned at 200mg/week or thrilled? I see a lot of people starting at 100ish/week.
Whats interesting while I was talking to this doctor he was explaining that he is seeing a lot of people in their mid 20's starting to come to him and he said for some unexplained reason the general population is just having lower and lower testosterone levels compared to what they use to be 10-20 years ago.
