Alright Fellas,
Well, my first post on this forum, and im asking for a favor.
Im a broke 18 year old student, weighing in at about 190lb's, and over the summer months I want to bulk up and beef out. Iive tried working out every so often with some weights at home, but my diet isn't good enough to make much noticeable progress.
I've got 2 and a half months this summer before i go away to Uni, and as i am now a member of the gym, want a decent gainer diet, so i can put on some pounds and beef up...
Any details on what foods to eat (yea ive looked at the sticky at the top of this page), what sorta shakes i need to get and stuff like that to help me gain.
Cheers for your time... :afro:

dont rely on shakes for mass. Eat alot of food, small meals threw out the day. something for me that worked well is go to deli at a supermarket get some fried chicken and potato wedges. alot of calories and easy to eat. also cold cut sandwiches worked for me with cheese on them. peanut butter sandwiches, hard boiled eggs alot of bananas and apples, i try to eat every hour and a half i gained alot of good mass doing this. And i have a gainer shake after my workout. i know people are going to say thats alot of fat to be eating, but if your bulking what the hell do you care about a little body fat right.

I agree with parker210 about eating a lot of food. I've learned the importance of food QUANTITY. Eat the correct amount of KCal and protein. Pay a lot of attention to carbs. I started gaining weight when I drastically raised the amount of carbs in my diet.

I've found my best results when I get about 50% carbs, 30% protein and 20% fat in my diet. I prefer a calorie surplus of at least 1000-1500 over maintenance on workout days, dropping back to 500-750 over maintenance on off days. With this kind of diet, I end up gaining a bit of fat along with the muscle, but no matter what, you're probably going to gain some fat along with the muscle unless you are on cycle or have outstanding genetics.

Volio14132: Do you have a history of lifting or are you pretty much starting from scratch? Any idea about your bf%?
