Not Responding to Testosterone????

I've been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for about a year now and haven't noticed any improvement or felt any different.
When I first started my levels were in the low 200s and now they between 700-800 (300-800 scale) and my free test is always at the top of the range as well. My estrogen levels are always between 20-30 (20-60 range) and I am not taking any arimidex or anything like that. The only thing I am taking is 150mg a week of test enanthate.

I also did my first cycle a couple months ago (after I had been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for around 8 months) and I took 500mg of test e a week. I did this for 10 weeks and again noticed absolutely no difference in the way I felt or any increase in gym performance. I didnt gain any weight either.

Any ideas what could be causing me to not respond to testosterone?

Consensus dictates poor diet and training habits as probable causes. An alternative would be auto-immune disease but, it is unlikely that it went undiagnosed this long.
Other possibilities are dopamine and endorfin irregularities or seratonin levels. Your best best is to visit an endocrinologist if diet and training are on point. Chances are you have a severe health condition.

Humdiddly is spot on like usual...

Diet and training definately aren't the issue. I'm very strict with my diet, measure out all the food I eat, never have cheat meals, etc. Training is good as well. I've gained 100 lbs to my squat in the last year, I'm doing my 1rm for deadlifts from a year ago for 10 reps now.

Do you think it would be a bad idea to tell my doctor about the cycle I did with 500mg of test?

this could be a thyroid issue as well.. as that effects your metabolism.. therefore your energy levels and ability to breakdown foods properly.. mention that to your doctor as well

I feel you punkguitarist. I've been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for a while now and any positives I've had have been modest. That being said, I like knowing that if nothing else, my hormones are gtg. I have had anxiety issues for years for which I take Zoloft generic and Clonazepam. The Zoloft causes sexual side effects and such so skews some of the benefits of TRT.

I also ran a cycle about a year ago of 500mg/week of T cyp. The gains I made were the equivalent of what I could've done w/out "juice" on a typical bulking cycle gauging from past experience. This may be because of "receptor" issues and having a tolerance, if you will, to exogenous T. Anyone's input on this would be great.

The body/brain is complex. It may take a while to find out what's really going on w/you. I would suggest blood tests to measure other variables.

So in regard to your question - T is not the issue.

Zoloft and clonazepam...jesus man have you ever tried getting off these? I have a hard time believing that an anxiety order does not correlate with a gut disorder.

WHAT!????? cjw2021 - did you get me confused w/the TS. If you aren't writing this in the context of the TS and the stuff I wrote combined, your statement makes no sense, i.e. anxiety = gut disorder = no ;>)

Same boat

I know this is an old thread, but I am in exactly the same boat. I have been on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) for 9 months, my blood levels are good, E2 is fine, I train and eat well...and nothing. I do have very low DHT, but even trying to improve that has not helped, nor has HGH.
