initially it may seem like it will work but then you will most likely stall out especially without gear..hell even on gear you may over train..
my training is based around the 3 lifts and they get hit twice/week but ones a max and the other is using a submax weight for speed..assistance is mostly done by feel..and i f i feel tired and weak i cut it..
most people go into the gym with the mindset that they have to do their 10-15 sets per bodypart whether theyre training a bodypart once or twice/week
those are the kind of answer I was hoping for. I pretty much do the 5x5 routine for my 3 core lifts (bench, squat, deadlift) and kinda like you said blackbeard, let my body determine my sets and reps for the rest of the workout, thanks fellas.
If I trained a bodypart twice a week....I'd be in the gym 7 days a week. That's a waste of my time. I've tried it before, just the frequency of visiting the gym is inconvinient. Especially if you're going to school or working- big waste of time.
In the past I have done a bodybuilding routine that stressed each muscle group 2x/week. My experience leads me to the conclusion that burnout happens quickly. It is a good shock to the system for a couple of weeks if that is what you are looking for.
