Pellet Therapy. Six Weeks Blood Test Results

I started TRT about 6 weeks ago. The only place I could find for treatment locally only offers the pellets. I was told injections are the way to go but decided to give this a try. My initial test levels were a 442 on my first blood test.

I had 10 (200mg each) Sottopelle pellets implanted in my lower back. This is their usual starting dose. After 6 weeks my blood test results show my test levels are at an 882. That's a huge increase in number, but I don't feel any different. Still tired most of the time. The only thing that changed is my strength in the gym jumped incredibly over the past 6 weeks, but no change in mood/energy level. Is this normal?

I haven't complained to the doctor but when they saw my test levels were at 882, they were not happy with that and want me to come back this week for another implant. I asked how many more they wanted to implant. To be honest if they were just going to put a few more in, it wasn't worth the pain and I'd just wait until my next scheduled implant. But they say they want to implant 10 more. Double the dose? That would put 4000mg of test pellets in my system in a 7 week time frame. Is that normal? It seems high to me but I'm new to this.

pellets, ouch I wish you well, but honestly I would be surprised if you like them.

Good Luck

Thanks. I actually called IMT and weighed them as an option. If I'm not satisfied with the pellets how would I get a base line blood test to IMT now that I've started treatment already somewhere else?

Of course they want to implant more. That's more billable revenue!

Have you checked your estradiol.

Why don't you find a doctor that will let you inject?

once you have been prescribed TRT there is no need for LowT number on your labs. It is expected to have TT up if your on treatment.

It's a fixed amount paid monthly no matter how many inserts are done. It's just the tolerating the pain of a 2nd insert after just 6 wks I'm not crazy about. They ran a full panel of blood tests at 6 weeks and called me with the results. But since they weren't happy with 882 they want me to come back in. The do prescribe for high estradiol levels if it gets too high. Mine was in the 40s. They say if it hits 50 they will prescribe something for it.

I don't have a family doctor and no one I have found nearby will even test my levels at 30yrs old. They think it's too young. Like I said, I'm still thinking about going to IMT from this site. It seems to have really good feedback.

Cool that's what I was hoping. My T levels were 442 on first test. Then right before implant I got tested again and it was a 292. Then 6wks after implant an 882. I work swing shifts and the 292 was just after working a 12hrs shift all night. I'm not sure if that much fluctuation is normal. I'm new to the whole TRT thing.

Don't get too excited, just do some research, its painfully obvious that pellets are only good for one thing, the docs pockets :)

I wouldn't put myself though the pain and discomfort -- and added cost -- of pellets when such better options are out there.

awwww did someone pellets get slammed? wonder who all these posters are that are pushin those lately........hmmmmmm berrynoup

I went to the doctor for a full reading of my labs 6 weeks after implants. I had 2000mg of Sottopelle pellets implanted.
My starting Total Test level was 442 and 293 (Had 2 labs done prior to inserts)
Six weeks after inserts my Total Test Level is 887 and Estradiol at 37.
The TRT clinic is wanting me above 1000 Total Test so today they implanted 2000mg more. I'll let you know how it goes.
I know a lot of people are against pellets and I'm still on the fence about them. I just haven't seen many updates from people that used them with Lab Numbers included before and after so I wanted to keep track and update everyone so anyone thinking about Pellet vs Injection TRT can make a somewhat informed decision. I know I had trouble finding anything.

You're going under the knife for this though...each time.
Are they making new incisions or using the same one each time ?

Yes, it's a small incision. It takes about 10-15min each time. No pain during the implant whatsoever. A little soreness for about 2-3 days after. A new implant location each time. Last time was my upper love handle. I didn't have enough fat there really and it was a little sore the next few days. This time I opted to go lower, in my upper glute, where I had a little more fat to implant into. It made a difference. No pain so far, but I just had it done about 5 hours ago. I'll let you know more when the lidocaine wears off. Normally they do implants about every 3 months. However since they are just starting on me and trying to get my lower T levels to a certain point I had to have more put in. The first dose raised me from a 442 - 887. However the TRT clinic says they would like to see me in the 1000-1300 range, thus why they offered to increase my dose.
The only reason I am doing pellets is because it's all I could find at the time when I was exploring TRT. Since I got my bloodwork done there, I am going to give it a try. This is my first time on TRT and my 2nd implant. If it doesn't work out I'm under no obligation with this place and I'm going to give IMT a call.

You're bringing un due stress on your self when it is totally treatable in so many better ways.
