Please Help Multidose vs Single Dose Ampules

I am a 58 yo healthy man who has been recently diagnosed with low testosterone. My doctor offered me the option of either having injections or writing me a script for Androgel. I opted for the Androgel, and now after three months, and actually feeling the effects, more energy, better mood and back wanting sex again (my original reason, my wife's too), I started looking at others ways to boost my testosterone back to normal levels, but not pay 80 dollars a month co pay or a 40 dollar twice a month office visit for the injections. After searching the Internet, I found that I could give myself my own injections of Testosterone (I have a friend who is a nurse and showed me how to inject myself in the butt) and purchase it for a fraction of what my doctor wanted to charge, plus be done with the gel, which is a pain because I am a very active outdoors guys and applying gel everyday when camping sucks.

Anyway, here is my issue and question. I gave myself my first injection (it does hurt some but the soreness went away in 48 hours), and the dosage according to my interpretation of what I was getting with the Androgel plus what I read from the recommended dosage of Testosterone from the FDA's site for the treatment of low testosterone would be 100 mg's every two weeks. The ampule is 200 mg's. What I want to know is if it is possible to split the dosage, and if so, how do I keep the other half dosage preserved? I wish they would have had the 10 ml vials, because that would have been way easier. If I can't split the dose, then I am looking at throwing away half the ampule and having to make another trip across the border because I now only have enough for 6 months using 2 ampules a month.

My advice, is of course worth every penny it cost you, but I'd either work this out with your current doc or get a new doc. Self medicating can be a bad deal. Also, read up on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) a bit more. You would want to consider the ancillary meds you are most likely going to need. (HcG, AI) Just my two bits, hope you get it all worked out.

I am new to Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) so I do not feel qualified to answer all of your questions. I can give you my opinion based an my reading and experiences. I strongly suggest you read as much as you can here on this forum. I am sure that some of the more savvy bros will chime in. I was mostly speaking about the mexican goodies you were reffering to. In my opinion, I think you may be on the wrong track with that.

If you have a real medical need for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), there is no reason to be smuggling illegal drug into the country. Go to a good doc or clinic and do things the right way.

Sure you told customs wink wink and of course they would not care that you have a script for androgel and that what you are bringing back is not androgel but a controlled substance.

Talk to your Dr about self administering if he's not down, find another Dr. If you can get it (like you said you are currently doing) though insurance then find a Dr that would write you a script and let you self admin under his care and supervision. This would be the cheapest way to go as it would just be your copayment of 15-25 once every few months (depending on dose and vial size scripted).

Thanks for the replies. So, I did not consider I was smuggling illegal drugs into the country. Customs asked what I was doing, I told them, showed them my prescription and they were fine. That being said....

I found another web site that really deals with Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). Here is what I have learned:
Slayer, you are right. I need to balance my TRT with hch and Aromatase inhibitor (AI). My doctor here in Albuquerque is a great guy, but this is too much for him. This is a limited state for finding doctors that really work with male HRT, so I am probably going to have to find a clinic, probably Floridia or Maine and pay for a real Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) doctor to prescribe and follow me.

Also, Androgel? Not only is it expensive, but it can stop working due to issues with the male body developing a resistance to absorbation, and, the imbalance which causes a need for hch and Aromatase inhibitor (AI) go with the gel just as with injectables. The doctors that specialize in male Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) often prefer injectable, even with the swings in levels, plus, loads cheaper.

Anyway, I have learned loads this morning, and appreciate the comments. Now, I have to find a doctor or clinic......

I dicked around trying to find a doc who would treat me for my low T in a proper manner for a long time and they had me feeling worse than I did before starting TRT.. I called Chip/Maximus who is a legit Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) provider.. After 1 month on his protocol, I feel better than ever in my life.. I mean EVER!! I don't get paid to say this, I say it bc it is true and I'm lookin out for you.. Best of Luck

Whatever you do, don't get that crap from across the border.. It is notorious for being underdosed or fake!

I forgot to answer your question..lol.. To preserve the additional 100mgs preload another syringe for next weeks shot.. Don't do every 2 weeks! I know from experience, you will be on an emotional and physical rollercoaster.. I don't know your financial situation, but if you can afford Maximus' very low prices DO IT!! Your well-being is not worth saving a couple bucks.

Androgel is great for growing breasts and feeling like a woman. All gel is great for that. Good luck with your sex change if you decide to continue on gel.

I have decided to use Maximus instead of trying to figure it all out and procure stuff on my own. I ran the numbers on cost, and for a man wanting to up his T and feel alive again, they have a great program. Thanks to all.
