Post workout Protein, Not enough!

I recently when into my Supplement store "Complete Supplements" in belleville ,IL; and sat down with the owner ( former BB) and spoke to him about post workout drinks and things. He told me that a protein shake is very important after a workout, but b4 protein your body needs forms of sugars to replenish the body. He said that if you just drink a protein shake, that will be converted into useless sugars and you won't get the maximum protein you need. So a good form of sugar first, then protein after.

I just wanted to add 2 cents in on some good advice i think, i've seen that some people only take Protein and no sugars afterwards, it seems like it is a waste of protein. Thanks for reading...any input is welcome...

NO hes an ass. within One hour after heavy lifting you should consume a Protein drink approx 30-40g along with a simple carb source such as dextrose approx a 2-1 ratio carb to protein ex: 40g protein with 80g carbs but I like to keep it around 1:1 ratio. The sugar releases insulin which will shuttle the protein into the muscle where it is neded most.
