Pretty interesting study on protein overfeeding.

I just found out this study to be pretty interesting, now Imagine this applied to AAS users? Do you guys think they would gain a pretty decent amount of muscle mass? So far for a calorie is a calorie.

I hate to disappoint you, but a calorie is STILL a calorie :)

The study relied on self-reported food intake (notoriously inaccurate) with no controls over training whatsoever.

The study was also commissioned by the ISSN, who are sponsored by supplement companies - 2 of which provided protein powders for this study.
In other words, its in the authors best interests to show that higher protein intake doesn't lead to fat gain regardless of caloric intake.

Considering how good protein is at blunting appetite, I'm not buying the idea that the participants still managed to consume the same amount of carbs/fats and therefore eat in a caloric surplus.
The fact that they didn't gain fat OR muscle OR any weight whatsoever clearly suggests they weren't in a caloric surplus of any kind.

So no - the methodology used in the study is so severely flawed that no conclusions should be drawn from it.

The way I look at it (and I love analogies) is that calories are like gasoline. Put more gas (calories) into the tank (body) than you burn and the tank fills up (you gain fat), put in less and it goes down (you lose fat). It does not matter if you use 94 octane (clean, whole foods) or 85 octane (fast food), the tank will fill up the same. Your body is a car that runs the best on 94 octane. It will run on the 85 crap, but you will have issues with it. Do your body a favor and use the good foods instead of the crappy foods. Calories are all the same, but the other effects are just as important. :)

lol.. people will believe everything they read..

it goes the same for everything they see on tv..

i gotta seriously question the logic of a person who think they can eat as much protein as they want and not gain weight..

"imma go on the all you can eat protein diet.. shit im killing 1300g a day right now!!" lol

Maybe someone mixed up the word "protein" with "pussy"--- that's plausible cause they both start with a P and the guy writing this up could have had pussy on his mind..

In that case, you very well could eat all the pussy you want without gaining a pound :)

I can eat as much cheesecake as I want and not gain a pound...with the added side effect of removing a lot of water weight while I am at it. Hmmm....maybe I should create the cheesecake diet. People will line up to hand me their money to go on the cheesecake diet! I can use my before and after pics with 3J (and give him a cut of the profits as hush money) to prove it works!!!

EDIT: Did I mention the small print will say "only works if you are lactose intolerant"?
