Prostatitis and TRT

I have prostatitis or inflammation of the prostate which can be bacterial or of an unknown origin. I'm going to see a urologist this month to check what my treatment options are for it. But my question concerns prostatitis and TRT. I have been on TRT in the past but stopped it due to complications with the prostatitis such as frequent urination which is an annoyance but I've realized what a benefit TRT was in my life Does anyone know if TRT is recommended for someone with this condition or if it can be used? I would like to start TRT again in the near future.

Man, I have the same problem as you. It's terrible. One day after injecting, my prostate swells up bad and I have to strain to pee which leads to infections. I'm now allergic to most antibiotics as well, so I'm pretty screwed. I really have no idea what I'm gonna do either. I've tried all the prostate herbs, saw palmetto, nettle, pumpkin seed oil, beta sistosterol, etc. The only thing that helps is flomax, cipro, and prednisone. It's the worst man, I've been to several urologists, and they can't detect anything, it's like i don't have a uti, but they know I do. One thing they can do to diagnose you is to squeeze your prostate, I know it sucks and it's horrible, but if any liquid comes out of your wang when they squeeze your prostate..they need to put that on a slide and get it to a lab for testing. Then they can get you on an appropriate antibiotic to kill whatever bacteria it is. Once it's dead you have to start up a regimen of prostate care with herbs and meds while you're on Testosterone. If you're taking ADD meds and Testosterone they do not work well together as they both eventually irritate the prostate and can cause similar issues.

So prostatitis is treated with a long course of Antibiotics, say 4 months of Cipro

Also its not the Test that inflames it but the conversion to estrogen, try using an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) med or a lower more frequent dose and watch it disapear

I suffered from prostatitis for many years and went to a couple of the top doctors here in Moscow and had massages, all kinds of suppositories, antibiotics and nothing worked for more than a couple of weeks....Then I got treated at a clinic called "Sanos" here in Moscow, Russia..It was quite expensive, somewhere in the ball park of 2k, I really don't remember the exact figure. However, I can say it's almost 100% cured me, except If I drink too much alcohol, which seems to agrivate it.....

In general they squirt some solution down the tip of the penis, which is painless, then they stick a little vibrating probe in the anus for about 10-15 minutes which apparently washes the inside of the prostate out and cleans it all and the main thing it unclogs all the pores filled with nasties..I had this done about 15 times...Anyway, something along those lines.... I will put the link up and you can read about this method,as for me it was a life changer.....You will need to translate it with google page translator, ...I wish Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) was that bloody simple....

I wonder was my prostatitis caused from low t/high estrogen levels for many years....

I have to agree w/ bhrees.

My Estradiol was high and I started .25 Liquidex EOD and my prostate irratation literally stopped after the first week. Energy and libido took a nice jump, too!

Good luck.

Would the supplement Erase work to help reduce estrogen levels? If estrogen is the cause, I definitely want to lower mine. New bloodwork coming in a week or so, will post my results. Not sure if my doc will give me an Aromatase inhibitor (AI), he's wary of that and still under the impression that DHT causes prostate inflamation. It's really irritating.

there are many research chemical companies, such as the ones shown in the banners (RUI) that sell good Aromatase inhibitor (AI) products. you just have to say its for your lab rats ;-)

i use to have a female urologist, she said she wanted to massage my prostate, I got a little excited thinking o yea here we go !!

it was hell , hurt and no happy ending for me

LOL...man you forgot to mention...was she hot? If not...that would definitely explain the unhappy ending. Sorry man, that had to suck.

I had prostatitis before trt and have it during trt. Seems to flare up in cold weather. I never have it in the summer. It comes and goes. The best thing ive ever done for it was aromasin. Keeping the estrogen down really keeps the inflammation in check.

Might want to add some Cialis in the mix. There is a study showing it being used to treat prostatic hyperplasia. I take it daily for other many benefits as well.
