Protein drink during a workout? Beneficial?

Just wondering.

Would drinking a protein drink between sets be beneficial for strength and size?
 
i was told it doesnt make a differencce, its actually the most benneficial to drink before a workout and drink water during a workout
 
it would be benificial in an anti catabolic way. Your amino pool would remain high and your body would burn that before tapping into your muscle mass.

Thats what I was kinda thinking. Maybe when I start my cycle I will try that.
 
If you worrie about getting catabolic then you should seriously shorten the time u spend in the gym! (actually lifting, not talking that is) Shouldn´t be over 1 hour.
Take 1 before with dextro and the same after ( a whey protein).
 
Start drinking your protein shake together with dextrose towards the end of your wo, after 40/50 mins.
 
I wouldnt do that, when you train u train, not doing anything else that makes u think about other shit.. only the next reps and set! Ceep youre mind clean!
 
My workouts with weights are around 25-45 mins per workout. I might stay longer doing cardio / situps. But I try to blast the muscles in the least time possible.

Drinking a shake during a workout would probably be the same as chugging one before a workout?
 
Dito does pre, during and post. Vendetta from Xtreme Formulations is a good one that you can actually feel.
 
t probably wouldent hurt. but is very inconveniant. i just gulp water during my wo. and i dont think that grazing during the work out is going to give u huge results. if u dont mind feeling bloated during your workout go ahead. me i would rather save room in the belly for the post work out shake.
 
Considering I drink a pre workout and post workout shake, I can't really see the benefit. I do drink diluted gatorade during my workouts though, because if I don't get my carbs I get a very "washed out feeling"
 
Yeah if you only train for 25min, drink 1 before and one after.. when is the time to dirnk another?? :) It dont go intop youre muscle as you drink it.

It does not take much concentration to drink some sips in between sets...

No, but that will make u have the shit ready mixed.... and it aint all that smart to let youre protein "lay"

My shake lays there about 50 minutes, not more, and I do not mix creatine in it but I leave it aside, I don't see any problem in that, and I prefer this way to fight catabolism.
 
If you load up good, you wouldnt have to be thinking about catabolism so much. And Im counting on that u take som dextrose after every workout (and hopefully before also) ? It will help take the body out of catabolism + give the protein and creatine an extra "ride"
 
Sure Id take dextrose together with my protein shake towards the end of my workout, not before since dextrose is very fast carbo and could give hipoglycemic rebound. Before wo I prefer simple saccarose and maltodextrine with low DE, mixed in water since it's a little slower carbo blend and the glycemic curve is a little lower.
 
I couldn't stomach it, i have to wait an hour and a half b4 i work out after eating, but i have my shit right after i workout, man, i would shit my pants, and puke on my partner at the same time...lol
