Question on HCG vs DHEA/preg

New to this TRT thing so i am sorta just feeling my way along. When I originally started (1 month ago) I did not think that HCG would even be a consideration for me. I am 39 ... vasectomy ... no plans to add anymore kids to my tribe. Plus, the thought of needles scared the crap outta me.

A lot can change in a month.

I figured out that injections are no big deal and do not bother me in the least.

I also figured out that when you introduce test and your natural system shuts down your boys head north and dont like to hang like they used to.

I have tracked down some DHEA and will possibly be ordering some pregnenolone .... then I got to thinking about HCG again. It seems there are places a guy can get it relatively cheap (my insurance will not cover it even if I get my doc to write me a script).

So ... looking for opinions and advice .... which is the preferred route ... DHEA/preg or HCG? Is one superior over the other?

Will DHEA and preg do the same thing as HCG without the risk of the HCG possibly causing E issues?

edit: Thus far I have not experienced any "E" symptoms .... no bloodwork since start of TRT but no oily skin, acne, bloat, tender nips .... nothing. I will say the TRT is not dialed in yet and is a work in progress.

Both.

When you induce exogenous testosterone into your system it interrupts the hormone pathways and shuts down your production of DHEA and Pregnenolone. This is why we supplement with them, to keep those levels healthy. After all, they are precursors to all the other hormones in the body. Having said that don't expect to "feel anything" while taking them, just know they're doing there job. But one should test these levels with blood work prior to supplementation.

HCG is used to keep fertility chances in tact stimulating LH, along with subsiding most of the testicular atrophy that goes along with testosterone supplementation. HCG will also keep up some production of Pregnenolone from the testes. Many men "feel" and increase in well being and libido, after all there are LH receptors all throughout the body. HCG will cause a rise in estrogen, be aware.

Ideally, as you can see you'd include both as they each have benefits for someone on life long TRT.

Try the HCG, I've done both and do prefer it over the oral hormone route. While supplementing additional DHEA can have some benefit, I'd do them one at a time to see if you notice any difference. The one big change from orals to HCG is my libido has gone insane - and I'm already a dirty old man as it is. ;)

I really want to shake the man's hand that thought of booty shorts and yoga pants. Great googly moogly!

...As long as my daughter doesn't start wearing them any time soon.
