Quick Question About Diet While On

Sup bros, right now i'm in my 10th day of a prop/eq cycle. Check out my earlier post to see how i have it set up, anyways my question is this.

Everyone says eat eat eat, when your on. I'm not trying to put any fat on, could i just not eat like crazy but take lots of protein shakes, like 300g protein a day instead, or do i need the high calories??? Not really sure how that works, last cycle didn't care about gaining a little fat but i'm trying to lean down.

ANy info would be great appreciated

I'm certainly no diet guru, but i don't think "lots of protein shakes" are a good idea. Whole, clean foods are better, while using shakes as suppplements. But let's see what other types of replies you get...

If you have a calorie deficit, then your gains will no doubt suffer. This is exactly what some guys decide to do when they are reducing their bf% but they want to hold on to as much muscle mass as possible. But if you want to maximize gains, then you need lots of protein and more than enough calories.
 
Your diet IMO should not change when you are on gear and when you are off gear.

When you are trying to bulk up you need to eat lots of calories and lots of protein. When you are cutting you need to decrease your calories and manipulate your macronutrients.

Just because you are off Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) doesn't mean you are not able to lose fat or gain muscle.

If you are trying to bulk up EAT LIKE YOU ARE TRYING TO BULK whether or not you are on supps or not.

Food is key, protein powders are a SUPPLEMENT therefore should be used as such.
 
If you drink all protein shakes all day, you will have massive intestinal problems. You need to get some of your calories from good solid food. But... if you want to try it, go ahead. You'll see it is a bad idea in a couple weeks when you can't stay away from the toilet for more than 10 minutes at a time.
 
Well see my problem is this, and has been. I'm in the army so i can't just go eat when i want too. We get 3 meals a day, they usually aren't all that nutritional from a muscle building stand point. Usually fried chicken breast everyday (i take the skin off, the fried part) mashed potatoes and some kind of vegtitable. They always have hotdogs too but whatever. Usually my meals go like this

0600 Breakfast
2 - 3 hardboiled eggs
2 pieces bacon
gritts somtimes
3 glasses of OJ

1200 Lunch
1 fried chicken breast (take skin off)
mashed potatoes
fruit
veggies
juice, soda, water

1500 Protein shake (75gr protein)

1700 Dinner
Same as lunch usually


Workout 1830 - 1930

1930 - 20000 Protein shake (75gr protein)

See what i mean, i'm also stationed overseas in korea so its not like i can go out to eat and shit, i'm very limited, i'm stationed in a small post up in area 1. Any suggestions, want to put on at least 15lbs and loose some BF

You may need to expieriment with different proteins or something. I can drink a shitload of shakes with no problems. I use alot of shakes as I'm a lazy ass when it comes to cooking. HATE IT!

But I think mranak summed it up. Too few calories=weight loss. Calorie surplus=weight gain. Your meal timing and macro breakdown are also important.
 
do you even have access to the right ammount of equipment needed to get what you need done? Squat rack, dead rack, bench etc...? if not then I would hold off until you have everything necessary to meet your goals, oh yea and what about your pct?
 
Thats one good thing about the army no matter how shitty of a post they will usually have a decent gym ? Yes i have all the equipment i need. thanks for the inquiry

Can u get to know a cook on post?? If u get buds w/1 of them maybe u can get them to be more generous. How bout eggs(good source of protein)?? tuna?? milk?? Can u buy any of this stuff on base?? Sure if u get to know the right people u could get more food bro. If u're not getting the cals u need, u prob. wont grow(not much anyways) Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) or not.
