Removing oil from beakers??

Anyone got an easy way to get rid of the leftover oil in the beakers after mixing up a batch?? Seems like it takes forever to clean things up so I can get on with my next batch.

How about a little alcohol, or maybe just soap and hot water? :spank:

Well, the solution will depend on what solvents you have available.

If you had Dichloromethane, hexanes, toluene, xylene...even limonene (orange oil) they would all dissolve the oil nicely. Then you can wipe out the beakers and do a regular soap and water wash to ensure the solvent residues are gone.

Just a thought - but if you don't want to use detergent/water for the cleaning, you might not want to use it for the followup wash :)
