I was just wondering if anyone out there has taken Russian Bear 5000 protein. I have been using Nlarge lately but my eating has been kind of shitty so I picked this up to help fill in the gaps. By looking at the numbers of the stuff thats in it putting on 20 pounds natural with it shouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately the taste is shitty but if it does what it says it can its worth it. Some serious, calories and protein with 0 fat, god damn.

Anyone out there use it? If so how long and is it worth the bad taste? Is there anything else out there comprable to the numbers this shit boasts?

which flavor did you get...I got the chocolate flavor...and I thought it was pretty damn tasty....if you mix it with water it tastes worse than with say either nonfat or 1% milk.....but try mixing it in a bottle and then freezing it a little bit...then shake the shit out of it...and drink some more.....when I was drinking about half a gallon a day of it...I think it helped me out quite a bit.....but I'd only recomend it if you dont' have the time to eat....just my 2 cents

I also bought the chocolate. Taste is ok, nothing compared to Nlarge's taste. How long did one jug last you? I believe it only comes in the one I bought, 4lb jug. I would stick to Nlarge but I have problems getting my hands on good food while here at school.
Does any other protein out there compare to this one? Its not very popular, I think because of the taste and having to take it with a gallon of milk. But damn, with a gallon of milk its:

Cals - 5000
protein - 292 g
carb - 567 g
fat - 128 g (all from the milk, zero otherwise)

I'd don't really like the taste after a little while so if there was something out there that had these numbers I would grab it. I need to do a cost analysis and see if its worth it because it doesn't last very long. But 22.00 isnt much to pay for the stuff it lasts a little bit. Did you see a significant weight gain using it compared to other stuff?

LOL,I remember some russina bear tablets that were pimped in a magazine like they would give u results like a huge cycle of 1g of test per week and 50mg of dbol a day!I remembe I bought into it,being very young and naive still(this was still before I got financially raped by bill phillips and learned the hard lesson of the supplement industry ripoffs..thanks for that bill!)
Now,jokes aside. The russian bear weight gain powder I recall as well. How many grams of sugar make up those carb grams bro?Im certainly not knockin the product, but personally,I like to make up my own weight gain formula.Protein powder, oatmeal, olive oil, sometimes different fruits and/or mixes. But that is the basic mass shake that I make.Different flavored protein powders give u a different taste so it doesnt get boring, and u can blend up and drink however many cals u need to adjust it to no problem.Or add different fruits for a different taste/macro profile...Obviously you have to tweak it depending on your metabolism. If you tolerate carbs well,or if you need to avoid all mixing of fats/carbs...etc.In fact its just about time for my next one, think ill kick it up to right now as this thread made me hungry!

the problem with these damn weight gainers is that they 're just too damn expensive. and you can never feel satisfied after gulping ungodly amount of it. I still feel like i want to go for a sandwich(real food). Just hard to believe that it's got all these callories in them. But the real food is just too damn hard to swallow(i know i'm a damn pussy)

My problem isn't so much eating the food as much as getting at good food, and even harder to get at good food to hit those numbers everyday.

i emailed the company and they told me that it was a combination of high and low glycemic carbs....if you are worrying about gaining too much fat...then just use water or some skim/ low fat milk....and then you wont be getting an ass load of fat...like I said I was working like 16 hour days...so I thought that if the lable was at least right then I should be getting enough so i just drank it throughout the day...and I know I gained mass...but everything works different for everybody

Thats a huge misconception.

You can get fat by eating 1g of fat every single day. Especially if your ingesting 567g of maltodextrin (sugar) which is most probably the main ingredient in this weight gainer, as it is in every other weight gainer out there. The protein probably isnt suitable for cow consumption either.

Your best bet is to get your calories through real, unprocessed food. If for some reason you dont have time for a real food meal (class, work, etc) mix some oatmeal (ground up in a coffee grinder) or fish oil in a protein shake. Oatmeal is a healthy, low GI source of carbs and fiber...maltodextrin is nutrionally empty.
