how many sets per body part ?


sets
Chest/Back 12-15
Quads 8
hams 8
calves 10-12
bicep/tricep 10-12
shoulders 12
traps 8-10
 
I do...

Chest -13
Quads - 13
Calves - 4...3x per week
Bi - 11
Tri - 11
Abs - 6...2x per week
Shoulder - 4 (I really need to devote a day to just shoulders, but I don't have time with my schedule right now.
Traps - 4
 
Do you mean for example, all sets you do for your body part? IE: Chest would include Bench, incline, fly, etc? If so,
Chest 9 sets (Flat Raw bench, inclines)
Back 8 (Lat pull down, Rows)
Legs 22 (Squats, Leg ext, Weighted Lunge, Leg press, Calf Raises)
Bi 4-8 (Variations of curls)
Tri 4-8 (Rope pull down, rope over head)
Abs 0 (Im really bad about that)
Shoulder 10 (Military press, and Jerk from powercleans)
Traps 0 ( I get trap work with DL and Powercleans)
Deadlifts and powercleans get 5 sets a piece
BTW Im lifting more for power and speed not so much tone. And I know Im missing some here, this is all from the top of my head, cause my lift folder is in my car :p
 
I don't do over 6 working sets per body part.... I keep my reps at 8 (unless Im on the 5X5) and push myself.. for guys that are doing 16 sets for a bodypart aren't pushing themselves very hard if they have enough energy left to do so many sets...... I guess Im a believer in less is more..........

I fully agree. For shits I went ahead a tried my buddies high volume workout but I used my usual weights and was absolutly dead by set 8. I literally couldn't control the weight on the final few reps of dumbbell presses.
 
I think you guys misintepreted what I was saying.

Example: For chest, I do Raw bench: 5 sets, and 8 reps 5 reps 3 reps 3 reps 8 reps varying reps.
Incline: 4 sets 8 rep 8 reps 8 reps 8 reps

Now, when I said 9 sets I ment 9 sets between the two. And all the rest are for that too. I tried to explain it correctly.

Oh, and about the not working hard enough....my workouts are very intense, high weight and varying reps. Usually 3-3:30min rest between cause its all heavy.
