Should overfeeding your children be considered "Child Abuse"

A group of doctors are calling for parents who allow their kids to get too overweight to be held responsible.
They think that parents who over-feed their kids are not looking after them properly and - in extreme cases - their children should be taken into care.

They say parents who over-feed their kids should be treated in the same way as those who under-feed their kids.

Should parents be punished if their kids are obese ??? What do you all think ?
Check this video out.. and please give me your opinion.

idk if they should be punished for it, its wrong yea but punishable? i was fat when i was younger wasnt because my parents were irresponsible it was because i ate shit just like the rest of my family. maybe in extreme cases they should be looked after or require frequent checkups and if certain conditions arent met then action should be taken, but to take a kid away from his parents or a consequence like that is going to have much greater emotional consequences than over feeding a kid.

I hear your point , but what if the kid dies from obesity, should the parent then be punished ? After all they are the ones responsible for buying and preparing the kid's food, I'm not talking about a chubby or a bit overweight kid... I'm talking about a 7 year old that weighs 400 lbs, to me that is a form of child abuse....(I mean if you poison your kids you go to jail)I know is not poison these parents are feeding their kids, but it's definitely killing them.

I think it would be more beneficial to educate
than punish.
A lot of the obesity problem in America
is socioeconomic related sadly. Shit food is
advertised the most, it is the cheapest, and
most available to the poorest people in this
country.

yeah i agree with both of those, kinda off the point but id like to see the fast food places start to get punished
