Hello,
I have read loads on how it is not wise to mix your PWO shake with milk because it slows down the absorbtion of the whey but what if i am not going to have a meal for about 2 hours PWO and i add skim milk powder to my shake?
I think if for about 2 hours i am getting a slow and steady digestion of protein from the whey + skim milk,it is good. Why all this rush to get the whey digest fast if i am not going to have a meal for a couple of hours.I would like to know your views on this.

Thanks.

A.) You don't have to do what everyone says - Its a scientific approach looking for optimal results.

B.) Just because you use a slow digesting protein doesn't mean your not going to make gains. You will, but probably not at the same rate.

C.) Personally i'm not a fan of Dairy products. I honest to god believe that as humans we are not meant to drink dairy after a certain point. Most don't do well on it IMO - Now if you can get away with it, fine but you'll eventually your own body will catch up.

D.) Why can't you have a small meal? Pack 1.5 cups of cottage cheese and take it where ever your going. Plenty of protein there.

Best of Luck though

I prefer the taste when mixed with milk, but also dont want to slow down absorbtion (not that I believe it makes a lot of difference) so I use 50/50 water/milk mixture, tastes better than plain water and absorbtion should be better, who knows.

I also like a solid meal an hour after a shake. I suppose what you are saying is you might benefit from slowing the digestion by using milk as you wont be eating for 2 hours. Not sure, but I understand whey passes fast and is only used optimally after training, so solids are better suited for this slow release effect.
