Steroids after 60?

My dad has worked out all his life, hes not a pro, he likes to look fit and has done some roids throughout. He is thin by nature (6'1 @ 170lbs). He wants to run a cycle and is not sure if its safe at his age and what he should use to pack on some weight. Suggestions?

first off there are a few health issues relating to older males.....one is prostate health
the other is a psa test....both these need to be done before contemplating steroids...
if he comes back with a clean bill of health.....most would suggest testosterone but id personally lean to something slightly milder with less aromitization........perhaps a primo anavar stack or something from the nandrolone family.......

At your father's age it would be most prudent on his part to first get his natural Testosterone and Estrogen levels tested by a qualified physician. Getting Estrogen levels tested is important because as we age our bodies produce more aromatase enzyme, and thus produce more Estrogen. High Estrogen levels in older men is now considered to be a predominate cause of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), (enlarged prostate), and prostate cancer.

well said
to add to it IF his natural test has declined , and at his age thats very likely ,just going on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) might make a big difference for him .

first off he needs to get himself checked out by a doc for everthing.... prostate, estrogen, bp, cholesteroll, ect. Then when he goes on he needs to keep close eye on things even more so. Side effects for someone at his age can be much more seriouse, especially prostate and blood pressure. But with all that in mind I think a cycle would do absolute wonders for him. At 60 yrs old his test must be almost non existent and estrogen way up. Personally I belive that older men can benifet from Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) just for mental purposes. I promise you once his test levels rise your going to notice a huge change in his mood and energy.

Main concern here would be like others suggested: prostate health. Seeing as DHT is the primary problem, I'd suggest staying away Test based compounds and go with non-aromatizing anabolics such as Anavar and T-Bol. Should have some Arimidex or Nolva on-hand for AE. Run cycles shorter than 10 weeks, with proper post cycle therapy (pct). The strength increases alone should help keep him motivated. T-Bol will keep his libido up. Anavar may decrease it. Although, it never has with me (up to 70 mg/d).

Also, he may be good candidate to see HRT/anti-aging clinic.

More power to him.
