steroids and statins

I am currently running a light cycle, test and mast just 3 cc's per wk. I get good results with lo doses. I'm in the business and need to look my best. I went to the Dr. today and have high blood pressure. He prescribed a statin drug and I was wondering if I should use it with the AS? I'm getting different opinions and all are welcome. My plan was to just not use the statins, wait till the cycle ended and have the BP checked again. I've been in the game for over 20 years and have done a dozen or so cycles without a problem but the more info I can get,the better. I hear different things about statins and AS.
age 49

are you sure he ordered a statin for blood pressure? Statins are HMGcoA reductase inhibitors which block the formation of cholesterol, they usually arent prescribed for bp issues. If you already have a high bp to begin with the water retention from gear can dangerously elevate your BP levels to increase chances of heart attack or stroke or just worsen your hypertension making heart disease possible in the future (heart valve issues, aortic stenosis etc). If you got prescribed BP medications (thiazide diuretics, ace inhibitors, Calcium channel blockers, ARBS etc) then i would def be on those if your considering a cycle. Also if you have high cholesterol prepare for your lipid profile to get jacked up also. just fyi

Yup I'm sure it's a statin. I was confused also but didn't want to get into it. I'm just not going to use it. Cholesterol is fine and I'm at a loss why the statins. I hate to seconed guess a Dr. in his office. My blood pressure fluctuates so much that I think being in stressful situations, like going to the Dr., cause the spike so I'm going to use some natural supplements to see if that will control it. I personally think the test is what set off the high reading that and what I said before. We all live, well me anyway, stressful lives. Sometimes I just have to lay back and get it all in gear. Business, marriage, loosing my dog and so many things that a good chill is sometimes the best medicine. You're response of why statins is what I get everywhere. I'm at a loss as to why and this guy is no dummy but did a dumb thing. The buck stops here and ultimately were responsible for our own health. Thanks for the info.

Yet another example of a doctor misdiagnosing a patient , like JJ said , statins are for high cholesterol , not high blood pressure . I take a mild dose of calcium channel blocker to keep my BP in line , but beta-blockers like metoprolol are most commonly given . What are your average BP readings ? You should now take it 3 times a day now that its been identified as high ; you do have a BP tester right ? ~Bo
