cdog, by soaking i'm assuming your talking about still dissolving in the heet. if that's the case yes just continue. you will probably have some white material dried above the liquid line from the heet evaporating, if it was me i would use a little heet to wash that off the sides of the container to make sure you get all the good stuff. hope this helps.

I'm no expert with this but I asked Dazed of synokits.com about this and his reply was that the experiment would still be good as long as your syno didn't stay in the heet too long, like several days. I hate to tell you this but I would start from scratch.
