Ok so i am in Pattaya Thailand and i cant seem to find syringe filters here at the pharmacies. The place where i bought the juice just looked at me funny and said i dont need them. When i said i dont want to inject broken glass from the ampule he said, "no no u break like this....then ok...no glass"
So how integral are filters?
If they are a must have thing, any ideas on where to find them here?

You don't need a filter to draw from amp.

Score neck with a razor
Use the cap from an ink pen and place pen cap over neck of amp.

I use a small towel and wrap it tightly around the amp then use the pen cap to snap the neck off. You don't want to hold it in your hand so start with the corner of the towel and wrap tight so you don't cut your hand.

There should be a clean break. If a little glass chips off just becareful pulling up the oil but it's very easy after you have done it even one time. Or you can get online and spend a couple dollars on a amp opener but no need really.

Your going to waste $5 per filter per amp. Thousands upon thousands of amps get used monthly/yearly not using filters. If there is glass it's doubtful it'll get picked up by the syringe.

Worth noting that filters are for pushing liquid through, not pulling.

This is true if he were talking about a filter for sterilizing gear, but he's talking about syringes that have a filter used for drawing from amps. These may have some use in a lab but I wouldn't waste the money.
