T3 dosing question

Ok, so a girl I know was complaining of various symptoms awhile back and was never hungry. I mentioned she should get a test done to see if her thyroid was functioning properly, and she told me then that thyroid problems run in her family (parents/aunts/uncles all on thyroid meds). So when she got tested it, she did have lowered thyroid hormone levels and was given then a sample supply of T4 and instructed to do 1x100mg tablet a day.

Now her health insurance hasn't kicked in at her new job and her previous one didn't have it, so she was having an aunt out of state who is a nurse send her out sample pack month supplies of the T4, but it was taking her too long to send it (would forget, etc). So I went and dug out my leftover T3 supply and gave it to her, and told her to take 1x25mg tablet once a day. Now, since then all her of symptoms have been fixed (like when she was on the T4) except now she is constantly hungry. Is this a sign she may have been underdosed on the T4, or is it just a side effect of the T3 being the quicker acting hormone?

Anyone on here who has an actual thyroid problem just use T3 instead of prescribed T4? If it helps, she is about 5'2 and 120-130lbs I believe.

Any input would be great, thanks!
