Test-e only cycle question

Hi guys

I've been thinking of doing my first cycle and although it's probably a while off I've been doing a fair bit of reading.

Seems like test only is the way to go for the first cycle, with standard recommendations being that you run Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and Arimidex or some other Aromatase inhibitor (AI) DURING the cycle, and then run clomid + nolva during PCT.

My question is this: Is it OK to run Nolva during cycle instead of Arimidex (bearing in mind I would be using Nolva for the 10/11 week cycle AND however long PCT lasts).

If not, why not? Am I more likely to experience symptoms of gyno by using Arimidex instead of Nolva, for example? As I understand it Nolva is a SERM whereas Arimidex is an Aromatase inhibitor (AI), but generally it seems like they both accomplish the same goal just through different means.

Good question. Nolva will pretty much only help keep you from getting gyno on cycle. The estrogen will still be floating in your system. It does nothing to actually control estrogen levels. AI's will keep test from converting estrogen. This will help keep bloat down, blood pressure in better range, help with libido and mood so long as you don't drive your estrogen too low. An Aromatase inhibitor (AI) is a much better choice on cycle.

super noob question. what does Aromatase inhibitor (AI) stand for? I did a google search on it but everyone always refers to it as just Aromatase inhibitor (AI), and it sounds like it pretty important to get figured out.

AI = aromatase inhibitor
It is a class of drug which, as the name suggests, inhibits the enzyme aromatase. The enzyme is responsible for the synthesis of oestrogen (excuse the Australian spelling) from testosterone.
