Safe meaning what? She shouldn't get pregnant on the pill (IF she's taking it propperly it's like 99.9% effective) but it isn't gonna protect either of you from any STD's. Unless you're sure you're both clean (meaning you've both been tested and came out negative for any STI's) and neither of you is messing around you should wear a condom.
