Thoughts on confiding in doctors for bloodwork?

I'm in NY and getting blood work is a pain in the ass. I found a place that sends you a kit, and so far on their list of approved labs near me 2/3 don't even do it anymore and this company is dicking me around with where I can go. I woke up early to go to the lab just to find out I can't even have it done there. I have a routine I need to stick by for work with a lot of responsibility and can't be driving out of state and spending a day just for 10 minutes of bloodwork. The nearest place that says they can probably do it is an hour and a half which isn't terrible, but still absurd. I can't believe I don't even have the right to have access to my own body's diagnostics, but that's a different conversation.

As far as an MD goes, I currently only have a nurse practitioner. Not to sound sexist, but I just don't feel confident in saying I believe a woman will understand steroid use or treat the topic fairly. With that said, the only other option is a younger ENT I see but I'm not sure he can issue blood work like that or will even be ok with it. I'm not sure if I should even consider finding a doctor and being open about it.

What do you guys think I should do? Having insurance cover the bloods would be a huge life saver as well but it seems like playing the lottery.

Yeah, until they find (from the results THEY paid for) you're on controlled substances, and cancel your plan, or discriminate against you in the future. Make the drive dude, it's one day of your life.

He is right, I'm a NY resident myself and made the haul to PA. The LabCorp in Archbald PA was nice and didn't ID me, that's the closest to me at exactly 3 hours but I'm upstate not NYC.

I wouldn't tell my doc about a cycle, not unless something detrimental to my health struck and I had no choice.

I would take a day off regardless of your responsibility, I'm sure work will find a away to move on for a day. I know many PA labcorps also have Saturday hours if you happen to have Saturdays off.

Drs for the most part will log your info, and this could effect any life insurance that you wish to get in the future..

My Dr does my blood, and I told him right from the start, that I do my own TRT and I asked him to keep this off the record before I even questioned him, he agreed..From there on out he does my blood script for labcorp... He does bust my balls from time to time, but he's super duper cool.. We trade ideas, and chat about this and that...He's not an endo, but he does have many guys under him that he gives scripts for TRT...I wont go under his TRT care because it will now be his calls, and not mine...

Just ask your Dr if you can have a chat with him off the record, and just size him up... dont volunteer to much info, just see where he stands...

worst case, just order your bloods online man!

Yeah it seems risky to confide. I'm aware of the risk that they'll log your use. I think doctors like yours are rare unfortunately.

Rare is an understatement.... mine is very unique and has a very different approach to Medicine and treatments... something's I won't go to him for but for the most part he's my go-to guy
