I've been using it for over a year. It works great.
Read the article on official HST method and stuff in the FAQ at the forum 'Bryan Speaks Up' is a good one. There is loads of good scitific info on training there.
You won't read this in any magazine but the truth is to experiment. Everyone has different genetics that require different training protocols. Some get huge off of low reps with heavy weight. I do better with higher reps but I use some lower rep work to switch things up.
I am currently using a program that I used with great success back in college. It's called Big Beyond Belief. If you do a search within this site you will find the entire program. It's a Bulgarian system that has you constantly changing the rep scheme and time between sets week to week. I love this program because it leaves no stone unturned. It's similar to HST in that you do essentially the same amount of working sets per bodypart but it's spread out 2-3 times over the course of the week. In doing this, you keep the adaptive process rolling without over-training.
