when you're sick, what do you guys do?
take off the gym completely til you're well? or just reduce lenght and intensity of workouts?

I lift light and drag my ass in to the gym regardless. I find when I sit around and do nothing the cold tends to stick around longer. OH and change your avatar...please.

I stay out of the gym at the height of any illness. Training is pretty brutal, both to your body and immune system. Not exactly the environment I want my body in while im trying to get well.

If you have fever, you should not stress your body. You can serious damage your heart. Keep heart rate low. That is what every doctor advise. It is the same for strong colds like tonsilitis and so.

Out of respect for everyone else around me, I never train when sick, especially wrestling. It pisses me off when I'm on the mat or in the gym and some fucker is sneezing and coughing all over you or the weights you want to use......Trust me, the gym will still be there in a few days....relax and recover 1st

I used to get colds quite often, especially during the winter. Knock on wood I have not had a real cold in 3 years. My fiancee credits her cooking.

I usually stop training when i first notice symptoms, and it clears right up in a day or two. Last time I trained through it, it lasted a few weeks.

It depends, if i only have a cold i´ll still go. But if im really sick ill stay off for a couple of days.
