Tricep Cable Pressdowns

When performing this exercise while pressing down the straight bar, is it a straight up and down motion. I've noticed if I pull the bar in a little towards my body i feel a better strain on the triceps. Is this lacking form though

300lb bench and you are unsure about you tricep cable pushdowns? Do whatever works the muscle best for you.

I myself use alot of different versions of the same exercise
Form to me is more how you execute the particular exercise,
If your getting a good strain then do it that way just concentrate on
the muscle being exercised and dont let it overlap.
If that makes sense

I do it however it feels best, when going heavy this means leaning into it a bit and nearly doing a close grip bench.

Why are you doing this exercise?

pushdowns are good for that tricep pump..no shit but that's about it
sorry AM but even PB has them in his PL split at anywere upto a 100 reps for 1-2 sets. and they have PB's endorsement then they are good to go in my book.

I see some people lean right over the bar and push down on the weight seemingly using some of their upper body weight.

I've always done them with my back straight and my elbows pretty much tucked in so that the movement is like the opposite of a bicep curl. I find that hits the tricep well but especially the lower part.
