Alright well I am 24 year old male and when i was 23 i underwent varicocle surgery. Before the surgery my total t was 315 but my free t was right boderline high. Now 3 months after surgery my total t is the same but my free is 10 points higher then the range. Its been about 1 year and my total t is still the same but my free t is 30 points higher then the high range. So each time i test after surgery its been climbing and my urologist tells me its fine and my total t was raise becuase my body is use to it now and that free t is really the important thing. BTW my shbg is boderline low range and so is my estradol levels. So are testosterone levels okay is the question?? THanks

I feel great I have woodys all the time. I am just confused because my urologist says it is fine but just seeing my total t so low is scary but since my free t is super high i guess it makes up.

Did you have low T symptoms before the surgery?

I have grade 3 varioceles and i'm waiting on approval from my insurance to get a microsurgical variocelectomy. I'm really looking forward to getting it done, i have absolutely no libido at all right now and T levels around 300-400, some blood tests said i had T as low as 287 and free test below range as well. I feel fatigued and crappy almost everyday.

Can you tell me some details about the surgery, like how long was the recovery time, and did you see your libido rise after surgery?

Hey dave I wouldnt say i had low T symtoms because i would make good gains in the gym and also I would have sex every other day at least. I live in CA and went to LOS Angelas to get my surgery done by the urologist who studied with marc goldstein who started doing microsurgerys. I had bilateral both grade 3 and he fixed them all and 1 year later he says everything is fine i usually go in there every couple months just to be safe for right now. Surgery lasted about 5 hrs but thats due to my urologist is very careful and wanted no recuruence. After surgery i was down in bed for like 2 weeks then slowly started walking and stuff but it wasnt fun but not too bad after all. You need to do the surgery its worth it. Your t should raise becuase my free t has been rasing like crazy and hopefully yours will tooo. My surgery was in january 2012 and i started full on lifting weights in august once i had enough motivation to get it through my head that the surgery worked. My count before surgery was 9 million sperm, 3 months later it went to 20 million. Yesterday i did another so on monday ill find out the results

Oh wow, in bed for 2 weeks? Do you think it's because since you had bilateral varioceles, the surgery was more complicated and thats why your recovery time was around 2 weeks of pure bed rest? My urologist who perferms these microsugerys ( the kind where they go in through the groin) said that he had patients get the surgery done on a thursday, and are good to go back to work on that following monday. How much pain did you have during those 2 weeks? did it hurt to get up and walk to the bathroom to pee? Btw, thanks for the reply

Idk know about getting back to work that soon. I guess if they have a desk job that might work but me being a farmer I waited a long time. But defiantly push to get the surgery. How old are you? Do you have kids or want to have kids? I saw your other post and don't take anything like clomid or test right now. After yiur surgery yiur urologist will probably put you on clomid to help jump start your testicles.
