First of all to help you guys better answer my question here is some info. I Am 30yr old 5'5 196lbs. I am currently trying to lose weight by doing the nutrisystem diet. I have been on it for almost 4 months and have lost roughly 40lbs. According to my scale it says I am 28%bf. I just started taking test cyp injections from my doctor. My 1st and so far only injection was almost 2 weeks ago. On avg I have been losing around 2lbs a week but the only week I haven't lost weight was last week the week after my first injection. I know my diet is good I'm only eating around 1600 to 1700 cal a day and I walk at least 2 miles a day and sometimes up to 5 lol. Last week I probably did more cardio than usual and I still didn't lose a single pound. Matter of fact I think I gained half a pound. The only thing that makes sense to me is that I gained some water weight from the testosterone injection. What do you guys think? If so, how much water weight did you guys put on with testosterone and what is the usual amount of water weight a person will gain? Thank you guys for the help.

Did your Doctor put you on an AI to control your Estrogen? If not then he should. Why are you on Test when your BF% is so high ?
My guess would be water from an increase in Estrogen.

Ok, you have a lot going on here.

Start by reading the Basic TRT Overview sticky in this forum.

http://www.steroidology.com/forum/testosterone-replacement-therapy/662394-basic-trt-overview.html

It will help explain why your TRT protocol is a poor one. Injecting once every 14 days is very bad for you. It will put you on a hormonal rollercoaster ride. And you will have lots of estrogen problems as testosterone aromatizes into estrogen (covered in the sticky). You need to inject at least once a week.

Bath scales are terrible at measuring body fat. Ignore it. If you really want to know your body fat % spend about $45 for a Body Pod Scan.

Don't go entirely by weight change. You should be more interested in fat loss. You worked hard to get the muscle you have so try to hang onto it. How much protein are you eating daily?

TRT will help you grow muscle after being hypogonadal. It won't happen overnight though. But say over the course of a year it will help. And if you do resistance training (weights), TRT will help add even more muscle. This is a good thing. Muscle burns more calories so if you can keep your calories the same you will be dropping fat. Also keep in mind that the increased muscle mass (and with help of the Testosterone) you will be holding more glycogen in your muscles. Glycogen is a good thing -- read up on it. But note that every gram of glycogen attaches tp about 3 grams of water. So your muscles will look fuller.

Let me go back though - your problem is most likely high estradiol which causes water retention -- and other bad things if left to persist. Get blood work too see what is going on with your estradiol. And get your doc to put you on a modern TRT protocol.

Ok thank you guy. They gave me the options to inject myself at home I was just nervous About it. Also they have only done blood work once that was when they determined my test was low. I assume he will do one soon to check if it's working as planned and to check my estrogen levels.

Injecting at home is very easy. First one is scary, but we all learned how to do it. They will teach you too. Lots of good YouTube videos as well. Definitely start injecting yourself at home.

Don't assume that docs will run the right blood work or get you on a good TRT protocol. You really need to learn to advocate for yourself. That starts by doing your homework so you can speak intelligently about TRT.

Will the dr. Actually listen to my advice lol? Also today doing cardio I felt pAin In my lower back ( back pumps I assume). I am going to start taking taurine to help with it. Also if it is back pumps that would be more evidence that my original questions answer probably is water retention correct?? If so does that mean I probably stayed with my pace of losing around 2lbs of fat a week and just gained 2lb of water making it cAncel each other out??

It hasn't even been two weeks yet. The test hasnt had much time to kick in. Sometimes lower back pain is just lower back pain.

And yes, of you become knowledgeable, you can definitely influence doctors and keep them honest

I'm pretty sure it's back pumps. Because when I did the testim months ago I had the exact same feeling and issue Are the back pumps water retention and estrogen related?
