I was loosing a lot of weight in the beginning of my diet, about 3lbs a weeks. But now that I have incorporated lifting into my routine I actually gain weight some weeks (not much maybe like half a pound). weight loss hasn't bee as consistent...I know the more you loose, the harder it become b/c you just don't weight as much as your body becomes more accustomed...Do you think my weight gain is coming more from muscle gain? I haven't changed my diet at all...about 1500-2000 calories a day.

It would be pretty hard to gain muscle on 1500 calories/day. But if your getting in like 300g/protein it's possible. IMO when cutting it's best to look at the mirror not the scale, because the scale is affected by too many factors. If your looking leaner and bigger your on the right track.

I've got the same thing going on I've gained a few pounds but look leaner and my pants fit better i figured it was mostly muscle gain.?.

Lose the scale. I'm assuming you (like 95% of people) mean you're trying to lose fat when you say lose weight.

Unless you're dropping weight for some weight restricted event, the worst you could do it look at a scale. Go by the mirror. You could be losing fat and gaining muscle. I'm sure you know muscle weighs more than fat, so if you lost/gained the same volume of fat/muscle respectively, they you're going to gain weight.

Use this opportunity to train your eyes to detect small changes; you will thank yourself down the road.

Also if you weighing yourself that the weigh ins are consistent...same time of day, no significant changes in diet, things that would skew the results.
