What does 3 marks on U100 syringe mean?

I am confused on a 1ml insulin syringe that has 100 units on it there are marks of 10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100 on it so when someone says dosage is 3 marks on an U100 insulin syringe does it mean the mark 30 labeled on the syringe is the 3 mark. Sorry to ask this but very confusing and no one has explained this yet.
 
To ME, if someone said 3 marks, I would think they mean 3 "tick marks" (6 iu's) which would be below the 10iu
 
in between 0-10-20-30 etc there are small dashes, mark, lines or ticks which are called units. a U-100 will have 100 units per mL each dash is 2 units as previously stated so the 3rd unit to me is 2 below the 10 and three above the base.

It should be the first three marks on ur rig man there are 2ius on each mark so say you recostituted ur 2mg peps with 2mls of bacteriostatic water than 1ml/cc would be 2000 mcgs get it so the first three marks would be 6ius but hell if i know im a newb too lol i just did what the math said that was correct so i went with it
