I agree w/ Dougoe. I find the deeper the injection, the less pain in the following days. If I don't inject deep enough, I get a lump of oil in my leg (or wherever) and often scare myself into thinking I have an abscess...

Do whatever your comfortable with.

I allways used 25g 1inch then one day my wife got 23g because the shop was out of stock.Best mistake ever .23 g is much better the oil flows nice and easy less pressure on the plunger.

It hurts a little more going in, but I actually found it less painful in the following days.
