I often eat cottage cheese before bed. It's a good choice. I'll do a whey shake too. Either choice is good.

I prefer casein protein before bed due to it's slower digestion. Add a couple fish oil softgels as well.

eatting before bed is over rated IMHO. i general dont eat before bed ANYMORE. i use back in the day. but not recently and i have found it has little impact on gains in gym or in wt.

really makes no difference. the whole "catabolic" issue is so overblown.
yea, i think it was more of a "push" on the issue by the big supp companies to make a quick dollar.

i drink a shake with 30g's whey and 30g's casseinate.
i do it because at bedtime it's usually 3 hours after my last meal. so i'm hungry.

Couldn't you eat about 4-6 egg whites (hard-boiled is how I make mine) and take a tsp of Flax down with a chaser?

Seems pretty cheap and plenty of protein to get you through your recovery slumber.

You won't gain fat in any substancial way either, the egg whites being pure protein.

Just my thoughts. I'd love to hear some more discussion on this.
