Loves you very much...
Just wanting to know where most of you get your natural protein intake from?? Not any shakes or bars but just natural protein you eat daily, weekly monthly.

Chicken(white), eggs, fish (sardines) and black beans. Those are where I get most of my protein. I do not rely on protein mixes except pre workout.

I get it from probably a 60/40 ration of chicken:beef.

Same here, I love lean hamburger meat. I also throw a few egg whites in my shakes too.

I've thought about throwing in the egg whites, but everyone has always told me I'll get salmonella that way?

I usually get half of my protein from shakes and the other half from red meat or chicken. I did choose chicken under the poll though because it is easier for me to eat a lot of chicken rather than a large amount of red meat.

You'll only get sick from raw egg if it sits around long enough to get warm, and then sits some more.

Optimun Whey protien powder is great...
I dont think you read his first post correctly. He wanted to know about natural foods. Anyway, I know that chicken is great. Lean meats like steak and hamburger. Grilled fish or tuna is good but batter dipped or fried fish is not so good.

mostly chicken and sardines...... On the weekend i might enjoy a nice steak.

Damn i can't wait for the weekend.....;)

the chances of getting salmonella are about one in a thousand with raw eggs. the risk is very exaggerated. most people get food poisoning from eating alfalfa sprouts. it is the number one culprit. alfalfa should never be eaten unless fully grown. the seeds and sprouts produce a protein that can be deadly and as it grows this harmful prtein diminishes. i would still becareful with eggs. try to get them at a place that sells organic or whole foods as opposed to your large commercial supermarket. that way you know theyre fresh.

If the chances are 1 in 1000, you will get salmonella and you eat about 40 egg whites a week does that mean in the 26 weeks you will definitely get it. It seems to me that 1 in 1000 is too big a risk to eat raw egg whites.

I drink two cups of pasteurize liquid egg whites everyday with my shakes. Other than that it really depends on what my goals are. If I am trying to add mass then there is nothing better than red meat. Red meat is higher in calories, has creatine, and many other benefits. If I am trying to cut then it is chicken or fish, due to them still being high and protein and low in calories. Chicken also has another benefit as it is high in niacon, which has been shown to help reduce blockage in your arteries. This is just kind of a side benefit though.

Just hard-boil the eggs and use those egg whites. No risk, ALL PROTEIN!
