Whey Pro. shake before bed good or bad?

Dlove

Product of Test
A lot of people saying you should stop eating around 7 oclock. Ive never followed that since Im still trying to bulk. Do you think it's good to drink a shake before bed say around 11 oclock? The shake is milk whey protein bananna flax oil and 2 tea spoons of olive oil.

I'd say good as long as you avoid any fats I think it's fine. Ideally you would want a slower digesting portein, miccelar type to help digest while you sleep

As long as you're bulking, it looks good to me.

consuming fats with this last protein shake of the day would further help slow the digestive process. ideally you'd want EFA's in there with your shake.

Caseine would be a better choice of protein for bedtime.

Agreed, excess calories from a fast-digesting protein like whey will end up being deposited as fat, same as a bag of potato chips. Whey is best used PWO, when your body needs a fast kick of protein.

I like to go to bed with a belly full of cottage cheese.

Excess protein becomes fat. And if you eat a fast-digesting protein like whey, right before you go to bed and your metabolism slows to nothing, it's very likely excess protein...

Also, studies indicate that casein is better for cutting, probably for the same reasons. Less of a sudden surge of nutrients, insulin spike, and fat deposition.

According to these articles, it makes sense at bedtime to get more of a time-release protein like casein, when a sharp protein spike is not necessary or desirable.

OTOH, I have an open mind if you can provide an article or two stating that excess protein *doesn't* become fat!

Best wishes

From your first article:" Here is a picturesque illustration of the real cause of weight gain. Eating too much food! " DUH!!!!!
Excess calories will be turned to bodyfat period. Saying that his protein shake is the same thing as a bag of potato chips is retarted. That was my point. if you need me to find "articles" to prove that then you my friend are a lost cause.
