Who does occlusion lifts?

Just like the title says, who does occlusion lifts? squats, bench mainly what I'm interested in. I've looked and saw no talk of it on here. Ran across a youtube video of someone doing occlusion squats. I researched a bit, and realize the purpose is to restrict blood flow, but what is the purpose of this? What are the benefits of it? Is there a point one needs to be to before doing this? I also read it can be good if you have a injury. My little cousin keeps messing his shoulder up, I was wondering if doing some occluded benching if it'd help with his shoulder and keep strength until it's healed? And for myself, does this increase strength and size? I've read you do this at 20% of 1RM per exercise you chose to do this with. Curious to see what everyone's take is on this? IF I missed the post on this I apologize, I did search and all I came up with was Heart growth due to AAS. not a lot of info anywhere really, is this something new to the bb world?
