  • There is nothing I can do; you have to learn how to gauge your own body. That is what it is all about. That is why most guys never develop the physiques that they aspire to build. They can't get past the idea of weight and reps as a measure of what they are doing.
If the goal is building the body, the mirror is the measure of progress.

Reps, sets, weight, rest has to be determined based on feel.
Well, have trained drug-free for the past 18 years so there is not much of a distinction for me between the training styles of folks based on whether or not they use steroids.

Train the muscle don't lift weights. It is that simple. The problem comes from the fact that most guys are to focused on measuring their progress and success by how much weight they lift. That is not a good measure of muscle development. So, what I suggest is that people learn to focus on how the muscle feels while they are training. Every set should produce complete muscle failure that results in the muscle being full pumped and total exhausted . That is not something that can be accomplished by doing sets of 2, 4, or 6 reps. That is weight lifting not muscle training.

So step 1 is learn to feel what you are doing to the muscle.
