It all depends. If you are just starting out that is not all that great, however if you already have a high degree of muscular development 12 pounds is very good.
Yeah, like huskyguy said, it depends on your level of conditioning. I gained a lot more than that in my first year while natural, and I'm sure a lot of other guys around here did too.
If you are new and that is all you gained, diet is likely the culprit. Most guys don't eat enough when trying to bulk up.
Like the others have asked, what is your level of conditioning? Give us some stats.... height, weight, bodyfat, age, etc. How long have you been lifting?
I am training for 3 years, my weight is 82 kg, I am 1,75 m tall. I think I have a vet% of 12% (1,5 year ago I had 14% but now I am leaner), I am 23 years old. I played soccer before I start lifting. I never used any steroids.
