Mike: how do people lose body fat when running a high fat ketogenic diet? Just trying to learn. All this diet stuff isn't my forte.
I don't know if ur trolling me asking that, but all u need is a general deficit to lose BF? Tons of diff ways to switch up ur macros. I think I ran the Keto diet back when I was around 140 lbs. (don't ask why, I was just experimenting), Basically took in less than 3g or so carbs per day and rest came straight from protein and fat sources. Hard to get use to for a week or so, but then it turns ur body into burning BF in a more efficient faster method than the normal just lower ur cals method. It also makes u appear much leaner too. Of course other guys say keep ur carbs up when cutting cause it's benefit is that carbs are muscle sparing in general, but doesn't lose bf as fast as keto.
Honestly though, I bulked up from 138 to 188 ( i stil have abs and clear cuts on my body, didn't use test till about 175 lbs or so for the extra boost), I always ran a 250ish protein, low as possible fats 20-25g that just stack up from general food, high carb like 500+. I work out a LOT for a LONG time, so carbs is always high for me. Complex best too, THe way I always ran it is more simple carbs (not talking sugar junk, but more like something like a bagel that has 1-3g sugar per 1 serving of it and I eat this in the morning when hungry asap, then rest of break fast complex carbs for slow digestion such as oats. I also hit up some simple carbs after work out, then run complex carbs till I sleep. Always adding in protein servings too, whey, egg whites, chicken.
I get prob most fats in my day from regular eggs, only do that during breakfast to help accutane better absorb.
Edit: the problem with running fat high during BULKS, is that ur only putting ON MORE MASS in general, ur not losing BF, and when u eat high dietary fat, it stores RIGHT to fat storage before it is used as energy even if u are hungry. It read a lot of studys on this before, otherwise I would not believe it too, but if u honestly just think about it, most ppl tell kids that just start out to go ham over the peanut butter and they do and eat tons of it, of course their cals is not SUPER high starting out, but they still like wtf gain so much BF, thats cause PB has tons of dietary fat. Carbs might hold water, but atleast it's fast removed compared to cutting bf forever..
