Today, April 24th 2015, marks the centennial of the Armenian Genocide. A genocide that has been denied by turkey for 100 years. April 24th 1915 marks the day that the ottoman turkish government began a systemic execution of 1.5 million Christian Armenians that lived in turkey through a ethnic cleansing.

I, as a full blooded Armenian, have been fighting for recognition of the Armenian Genocide most my life. The only way we can get it is through education and recognition. Most of the world has already recognized the armenian genocide, but America will not due to the strategic military advantage they have via a military base in turkey.

Please take a moment to read up and learn about the first genocide of the 20th century which was also a precursor to the holocaust. Hitler himself said "after all, who remembers the Armenians" when he decided to commit his atrocities.

How is it that this atrocity is so little known? How has it been effectively swept under the rug for a century? That is scary as hell.

As a minority I find it necessary to imbue myself with the history and chronology of other peoples misfortunes not just those of my people. The information in your post is not unfamiliar to me and I wish you luck in spreading the awareness.

Unfortunately the really scary thing is that there are many cases of genocide and people have no clue it ever happened.

In the end it's all politics.. Turkey destroyed many of the historical archives that would damn them to the word genocide. But there is an abundance of proof that genocide occurred and we fight for that legal term to be recognized..

I have to be honest, I had never heard this before and I consider myself fairly well-read. It doesn't surprise me though, given the history of the region. Thank you for the education, and please enjoy your day off 3J.

Thats the whole battle we have been fighting.. Educating the masses on what happened.. Its now in our history books in school thanks to our efforts

Today also marks the 100th ANZAC day, the day of rememberance as we got our asses kicked at Gallipoli, Turkey. Several thousand dead on a beach in minutes.

That being said, now it signifies ALL army/air force/navy veterans that have been in combat, we remember them all.

Lest we forget.

Wow, I'm surprised that I didn't hear more of this... I like to follow and keep up on all the
political, holy or global agendas.

It's incredible of how much corruption is transparent and hidden from the public... on so
many levels... shit, just look up George Soros!!!

Great information - and thanks for sharing this 3J!

Thx for the education 3J. I too thought I was well read. Can't fathom how politics could stand blindly in the face of human tragedy

Yes that is correct.. You guys did play a integral role in that war

I appreciate those of you who took a minute out of your day to read. Thank you so much! In Los Angeles 150000 Armenians marched for recognition. The largest gathering in the history of the protest.. Im very proud of that!
