I know this has been argued over and over, but whats everyones take here? I have heard both 6 little meals a day is better to keep you in a anabolic state, howver the constant release of Insulin could make you fat?

Others say 3 big meals a day allows for often insulin spikes which would make it easier to stay leaner.

OR does it even matter as long as CALORIES are the target at the end of the day?

I focus my cals around my workouts, so how many meals I have per day depends on how many calories I'm eating. Usually it's 3 or 4 with 2 PWO shakes, though.

I often have only 3 big meals per day.Or what I consider to be big.
Don't forget that a protein shake, A banana and a tbsp of peanut butter can also be considered a meal too. Think along those lines and I bet you are probly eating more than 3 meals. Also, check out the protein bar in this thread. I think it shows that not all meals have to be steak and potatoes.

3 big meals with snacks in between each meal

Also it's the famine affect. Generations of our people have suffered famine many times over the past 500+ years. Evolution remebers this in your DNA. By eating 5-6 meals per day, it tricks the body to believe that there is no famine and no need to store fats, Cals and so on. A man who eats only 1 big meal per day may become fat through the famine theory. Sometimes the best way to lose fat is to eat it. Exercise helps of course :) It's a continuous stream of food signaling the body to react.

Water loading. Many people don't realise how much water they are retaining. They just think that they are big. I see guys in the gym all the time puffed out like the michelin man. Up your water intake and the body will start flushing it out taking unwanted fats with it. You will see dramatic affects by doing this and watch your waistline slim down in a short period of time. Again, The famine affect.

I water load while using ephedrine to speed up the process. If you live in the U.S. you can't buy it so you have to put up with caffeine tab which work well too.

I guess I'm a bit off topic here. I don't have a degree in anything. I only have a simple understanding :)
