A tricky one

People lose their hair because their scalp is sensitive to DHT. DHT converts from testosteron. Then how come the older you get your test levels decrease, but you lose more hair?

Maybe DHT isin't as important as originally thought, or your DHT receptors become more sensitive as you age.

Or, we can look at it in terms of duration of effect. What if the prolonged activity of DHT binding to the receptors in the scalp causes hair loss over years.
