Um, except that they do cause heart disease...
You just said yourself that steroids raise LDL and lower HDL. This, in turn, causes heart disease.
while you are correct that high ldl and low hdl are heart attack risks, i challenege you to show us a study conclusively linking aas use with increased risk of heart attack (i am confident there are none).
that said, moderation is key. a moderate cycle avoiding those aas that are harder on lipids should not significantly increase risk. and you should do blood work during the cycle to check your lipids to make sure they are in line. i have noticed that while my hdl declines on cycle, it does not fall into a dangerous area (< 30-40). and strangely enough my ldl tends to be lower on cycle - i speculate that this is due to increased protein synthesis which mite remove cholestrol from the bloodstream. also, make sure to take your bp meds and track your bp while on cycle.
