Abs and calves both recover fast. However comma they shouldn't be trained every day like some would suggest. I say twice a week on calves, three times for abs. But I call deadlift an ab workout and sometimes call squat a calve workout if they are tired afterwards.
I hit calves on average once per week. I hit abs about 3 times per year
Now that I am leaning out, I am realizing that heavy compound movements build great abs!!! I have been told this over and over on the boards, and now I am finally listening
Actually Mr. Thompson, they are different. The abs and calves as well as your traps, are much smaller muscles in gereral and therefore should be trained differently. That is why i would tend to agree with the big ferrigno's training philosophy.
