If you set the weight on the chest press for 100 pounds (just an example) how much weight are you actualy pushing. It cant be the weight in the stack because leverage plays a role right??? Is there a fromula to find the actual weight your pushing?

Why would you be doing bench press on one of those machines?

I guess if you really wanted to know you could take a bathroom scale, weigh yourself, then stand on the scale and lift the weight on the machine and see what the difference is. Do it a few times and you could probably have a rough rule of thumb as to how much.

Better off using a real bench and weights.

i dont push down with my legs

i dont push down on the foot plate thing at all so would the pounds on the weight stack be the same as what your pushing. I think it said vertical chest press the machine looked like this.....

The "pounds" on those machines are just a number, they vary from machine to machine.

forget the machine and lie your ass down on a real bench! I only rarely do those, and that's AFTER I do flat bench, incline dumbells, incline bench and dips!

It all depends on the different pulley systems between machines. Do yourself a favor: grab your balls and get over to the bench press. I sure hope you're not doing leg extensions in the place of squats.
