Any ideas/advice please? Struggling to hit calories due to work

Okay so I've planned a diet from 3J's post and I'm to have roughly 4200 calories a day. I currently weigh only 157lbs and I'm really wanting to bulk! The only dilemma is that sometimes i have to work 5-10 hours straight sometimes with minimal break. This makes it extremely hard getting in calories when I work. Does anyone have any good ideas or foods which are calorie dense so I can still hit my calorie target to bulk? I should add that I used to weigh 167lbs but had a break from the gym for a few months

Bring a bottle of olive oil to drink. :-)

Premixed protein shakes. Jar of peanut butter. Whole milk or cream.

How easy is it for you to bring a lunch box with you?

I would imagine your employer by law has to give you breaks.
Try to plan your meals the best you can. Heck, I eat while working on the computer checking email, commuting from work, meetings. Whenever I can, I make it a priority. My co-workers are shocked that I'm not over weight and 300 lbs.

I negotiated with my boss that my one hour break a day (by law in Aus we get that for a 9-5 job) could become 3x20 mins. So at 9:30, 12:30, 3:30 I eat my meals quickly and get back into work. If anything I probably take less than an hour each day which makes me boss happier....

Do you work as a labourer or site worker?

Often it does not in the US. There are a lot of rules around "non-exempt" employees and breaks/lunch. Breaking up the lunch break like that would probably not technically work.

If you are exempt (usually salaried) then you can take as long a lunch as you want whenever you want.

But I am not an expert in HR Laws so contact your HR person at work.

oh damn that sucks! We've had these standardised award wages, parental leave, lunch times, penalty rates since the 70's. It's a shame it isn't universal across developed economies :(

Only real suggestion I can think of if you want to stay with clean calories is to precook things and individually vacuum seal them to carry in a lunch box with freeze packs. Grill chicken breasts and seal them. Then cut it open and eat it cold if you have to. You can precook your oats, rice, sweet potatoes, whatever and chow down cold in a pinch.

Now if you can't even take the 2 minutes it takes to scarf a cold chicken breast, I'm out of ideas. Cold food isn't exactly appetizing but if you're in a bind, it should do.

And there's the milk and weight gainer premixed, but getting your calories that way isn't as good as food.
