I've been on the internet for a long time and lifting even longer. I'm old. I'm just curious if anyone here remembers the usenet newsgroup (or newsfroup if you prefer) misc.fitness.weights? Back from before the web when the internet was a much smaller place?

I was mostly a lurker, but have fond memories (and learned much) from the people I remember: Patrick Arnold, Krista, Sandeep (?), Lyle McDonald, Robert Schuh, etc.

Do you visit. Lyle's site now? He's got a ton of great articles and a forum.

I did see it not long ago, but need to check it out in more detail. I owned his ketogenic diet book back in the 90s.

He's got some newer books, a great site with many articles, and a pretty good forum on there. Not familiar with the other names you mentioned but I'm kind of a young'in I guess

Well Patrick Arnold at least went on to become somewhat infamous for his role in the BALCO sports doping scandal - he was the chemist who developed "the cream" and "the clear". He could also be called the father of pro-hormones.
